They are able to encourage our inventive spirit by providing us with ideas and examples of ways to make the world better, safer and more beautiful. Copying is not the highest form of flattery. Many people download music and software everyday from Internet sites that do not have the artists' or copyright holders' permission. This is illegal… and it's just wrong because a lot of people who put a lot of hard work into making the CD or computer game will not be paid. Many songs and games on the Internet are free and legal to download, and you can make sure that you download only from sites where the copyright owners have given their permission for their work to be copied freely. Remember, it is just as wrong to steal someone's intellectual property as it is to steal a CD or toy from a store. Modern day pirates have chests full of music, movie and software treasure that they have downloaded illegally from the Internet or perhaps bought from another pirate such as a unscrupulous street vendor.
