Assume Mr. Woo passes away x years later, then the amount of inheritance obtained by CHRIS is more than that of ANDY by $437 500. (16+x)k+(21+x)k+(23+x)k = 6 000 000 . . . . . (2) From (2) : 16k+xk+437 500 = 23k+xk 7k = 437 500 k = 62 500 From (1) : [(16+x)+(21+x)+(23+x)]k = 6 000 000 (60+3x)k = 6 000 000 3(20+x)k = 6 000 000 (20+x)k = 2 000 000 . . . . . . . . . . . . (3) Substitute k = 62 500 into (3) : 62 500(20+x) = 2 000 000 20+x = 32 x = 12 The age of BILLY is : 21+12 = 33
